Our Water Quality & Fluoride Content
At our dental office, we prioritize your oral health and want to keep you informed. Currently, the natural fluoride level in our town’s water supply is 0.56 ppm (parts per million).
Why Fluoride Matters
Fluoride is a mineral that helps prevent tooth decay. The American Dental Association (ADA) and other health organizations recommend a fluoride level of 0.7 ppm in drinking water** to provide optimal protection against cavities**.
What This Means for You
Our water contains slightly less fluoride than the recommended level for optimal cavity prevention.
We encourage patients, especially children and those at higher risk for cavities, to discuss fluoride supplementation options with us.
Make sure to bring up any concerns or questions about fluoride, dental health, or your individual needs during your visit.
Fluoride Supplements
For some patients, especially children or individuals with higher cavity risk, your dentist may recommend fluoride supplements such as drops or tablets. These can help provide extra protection when your drinking water contains less than the recommended fluoride level. Talk to us about whether supplements are right for you or your family.
Ask Us!
If you have questions about fluoride, water quality, or how to best protect your dental health, please feel free to ask us. Your oral health is our priority!
